Sharon Redmond

sharon_redmondI was first introduced to NVC by Cate Crombie in September 2003 and also attended a foundation training with Gina Lawrie a short time later. Years passed and although I and Cate lost contact over time, my interest had been sparked and I pondered the idea of becoming an NVC trainer. After years of study in social science and management, I decided to actively follow the NVC dream and made contact with CNVC where I discovered an International Intensive Training was being scheduled in January 2013, a mere 20 minutes from my home in Beaudesert. An opportunity too great to miss! So I registered and attended 11 days of life changing personal transformation and training. To my delight, Cate and I reconnected and I am now on the path towards trainer certification and am on the board of C2Ci because I believe the social change that NVC can bring is profound and authentic.

My background is in community development and engagement, strategic/operation planning, project management, program development and facilitation, business management (with an interest in human resource management and development), and curriculum design.

I have always had a passion for sustainability, social justice & inclusion and am actively involved in environmental and social justice projects.

I’ve recently been awarded the ‘Chairman’s Award’ for highest GPA in 2013 through the Australian Institute of Management and I’m currently studying towards a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). My completed qualifications include:

  • Graduate Certificate in Professional Management
  • Bachelor of Social Science (majoring in Community Development; and Human Services)
  • Advanced Diploma in Community Services Management
  • Diploma in Community Services – Community Work
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
  • Certificate IV in Program Development and Facilitation
  • Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor

But now,” says the Once-ler, “now that you’re here, the word of the Lorax seems perfectly clear.
Unless someone like YOU cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.
